One killed, one critical after Milligan crash

Officers with the Elizabethton Police Department’s Special Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team investigated a single-vehicle crash this morning along the Milligan Highway. Captain Greg Workman said one person was killed and a second individual was critically injured when the small white car struck the Milligan Grocery’s sign.

One individual was killed and a second person is in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash this morning on the Milligan Highway near Okolona Road.

The Elizabethton Police Department, Elizabethton Fire Department and Carter County Rescue Squad were dispatched to the Milligan Grocery at 1:50 a.m. today on the report of a single-vehicle crash. A small white car had gone off the road and struck the sign at the Milligan Grocery and an adjacent wooden fence. The impact mangled the front of the vehicle and wrapped it around the sign post.
