Actor Mark Cabus returns to Northeast Tennessee this Holiday season with his acclaimed one-man stage version of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”
The veteran actor plays 18 characters from the classic tale of transformation and redemption at the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre, Dec. 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
“This is the fourth time I’ve presented this production in the Tri-Cities area,” said Cabus, who moved to Atlanta earlier this year. “But it’s my first time performing it in my hometown and at the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre, where my acting career began over forty years ago.”
Raised in Johnson City, Cabus is a skilled actor and director who was classically trained in England and in New York. He has performed all over the world in film and television as well as off-Broadway and in regional and children’s theater.
He’s recognized in his new home of Atlanta for his work with the Georgia Shakespeare Company, Theatrical Outfit and Theatre Emory and in Tennessee with the Clarence Brown Company, TN Repertory Theater and the Nashville Shakespeare Festival. His movie and TV credits range from the Warner Bros. blockbuster “The Client” and HBO’s Emmy Award-winning film “Against the Wall” to the NBC pilot “A Father for Charlie.”
