Opportunistic Cyclones beat Happy Valley

Elizabethton took advantage of its breaks and held on when the game mattered most.
The Cyclones scored two runs in the second and fifth innings and turned away Happy Valley late, holding on for a 4-2 conference victory over the rival Wednesday night at Joe O’Brien Field.
A true pitching duel between Elizabethton’s Dylan Richardson and Happy Valley’s Hunter Townsend came down to the fewest mistakes. The Warriors out-hit the host Cyclones 7-5, but allowed runs in pivotal situations with a passed ball and balk, respectively.
