Optimistic EHS swim team enters regional

The Region 1 swimming meet is this Saturday at Viking Hall in Bristol, and Elizabethton enters with high aspirations.
Scout Walz and Kelsi McKamey, both seniors, have already qualified for next month’s state meet in Knoxville. Having the best shots to advance are the Cyclones’ D.J. Arnett, Anthony Huber, Chris Lanthorn and John Smith.
“This weekend has lofty goals for the team,” Elizabethton coach Justin Conway said. “Ideally, we would love to send every swimmer we have to the finals and consolation heats on Saturday evening. We’d love for every swimmer we have to go to the evening session.
