Pancake breakfast to benefit Shepherd’s Inn
A pancake breakfast benefiting the Shepherd’s Inn Safe House and Emergency Shelter of Elizabethton/Carter County will be held this Saturday, Oct. 20, from 8-10 a.m. at Fatz Café in Elizabethton.
All proceeds benefit The Shepherd’s Inn, Elizabethton’s and Carter County’s only safe house and emergency shelter for women and their children who are displaced by domestic violence or are temporarily homeless. The shelter is fully reliant on financial support from the community for its operation. The shelter is a federally designated non-profit, is registered with the State of Tennessee as a charitable organization and is member of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
The operation is used by the Elizabethton Police Department, Carter County Sheriff’s Department, 911 Emergency of Carter County/Elizabethton, Departments of Human Services and a variety of other agencies and churches in the area. In addition to emergency housing, the Shepherd’s Inn provides food services for families who seek assistance through churches and other agencies.
