The Carter County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of patio furniture and yard accessories from two neighboring residences over the weekend.

Deputy James Stevens of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department stated in a report that he was called to 194 Slemp Lane, near Happy Valley High School, on Saturday on a theft. Jewel Van Hubbard said someone removed patio furniture from her front porch. The patio set is metal and wicker, dark in color and has red cushions. The set consists of a two-person glider, two glider chairs and one glass table. The set was valued at $1,000.

The victim’s sister, Wanda J. Davis, said items were also stolen from her property at 130 Country Acres Drive. Davis noticed two vases and a plaque were missing from the back yard and back patio. The two alabaster vases, cream in color, were valued at $200 each. The cast aluminum plaque, with a Chinese design, was valued at $100.
