Carter County citizens who live in the 3rd District can expect to see Billy W. Peters’ name on the May Republican Primary commissioner ballot.
“I am retired, but not retiring,” said Peters, who currently serves as the vice commander for the American Legion.
As a lifelong resident of Carter County, Peters said he is committed to improvement of the area.
And he has compiled a few examples of what he believes needs improving.
To start, Peters wants to help other county officials work on balancing the budget, providing better educational opportunites and economic advantages.
“I support the countywide recycling program,” Peters said. “This will reduce trash disposal costs, landfill costs and increase county revenues without raising taxes.”
