It’s quite possible Tim Shibuya could be delivering a standout season in Fort Myers, Cedar Rapids or another spot on the Minnesota Twins’ roadmap.
Instead of fighting for position in the minor league system, Shibuya is trying to regain his confidence back on the hill.
The Appalachian League’s Pitcher of the Year in 2011 returns to Elizabethton for what is expected to be a short stay in rookie league baseball as the former University of California-San Diego standout resumes his baseball journey.
“My first year, 2011, I had a great time here and it was a great place to start my pro career,” Shibuya said during Elizabethton’s media event Wednesday. “Now I get to come back and get some work done coming off of my surgery. Hopefully I can do some things to help the team win for a while, then start moving back up the ladder.”
