Planning Commission approves easement relocation

The Elizabethton Regional Planning Commission approved an easement relocation for Immanual Baptist Church during a brief meeting Thursday night.

Director of Planning and Development Jon Hartman said the church, at 205 Hunter Ave. in Elizabethton, had requested the relocation of the utility easement to allow for a future planned expansion.

The easement, which is a closed alley, is located on the side of the structure facing Carter Boulevard.

Hartman said he had spoken with all of the utility companies and none had expressed any concerns with the relocation. He said he had asked the church to maintain the easement to allow for an alternate connection from one side of the block to the other.
