“I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the position,” said Pierce, who ran for the same position in the last Carter County General Election.

Pierce was raised and currently lives in Stoney Creek. He is married to his high school sweetheart Genia Peters and has two daughters.

Although his family supports his venture, it’s Pierce’s 25 years of experience as a land surveyor and current position as Carter County Planning Committee chairman that has prepared him for the role he seeks, he said.

“I run my own business,” Pierce said. “I’m a registered land surveyor in Tennessee and North Carolina. As chairman of the planning commission, I assist people with their land use rights.”

Through his 7 years on the planning commission and 2 years as chairman of the committee, Pierce said he has a great relationship and understands how to effectively work with the Carter County Commission.

From what I have read over the years about what he’s done to help locals, and the fact he owns his own business, I think he has got my vote . For God’s sake Roger Colbaugh was a cog in the inefficient bureaucratic wheel of TDOT for 40 years, wants to retire back up Stoney creek and get another check while being in the pocket of Rab Summers. We don’t need another one of those.
