According to a report filed by Deputy Matt Ainsworth, Dustin Caleb Potter was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with retaliation for a past action.

Ainsworth reported that CCSD Lt. Penny Cornett received an email Tuesday from a Bristol, Va., Police Department major alerting her to a Facebook post.

The report states that Potter posted on his Facebook page, “They are getting ridiculous around here they think if u got a mason jar that you straight mass producing hell bro u kno what happened I ain’t done nothing since and I’m still getting followed around and if I catch that pig that was going thru my baby mamas trash like a ful stick I got that ak47 n I will touchem up.”

On Friday the post cited by the report was not visible on Potter’s Facebook page.
Ainsworth said the alleged threat stems from Potter’s Feb. 13 arrest charging him with promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.

The incident report for that arrest claims that Potter was found with a jar modified for the purposes of making meth.

Ainsworth additionally reported that he and other officers responded to Betty Street in Hampton on Feb. 4 to reports of smoke in the area.

Trash was being burned near a trailer that Ainsworth said was previously Potter’s residence and is currently occupied by the mother of his child.

The officers sifted through the trash to ensure the fire had been extinguished, Ainsworth said.

Potter was found by police Thursday at an Elizabethton gas station and taken into custody.

He was booked in to the Carter County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court April 23.
