The last suspect in a New Year’s Day armed robbery in western Carter County is in police custody.
Sheriff Chris Mathes said Crystal Dawn Barnes was arrested Thursday night and charged with aggravated robbery after four people in ski masks entered a home at 110 Hillside Drive Tuesday morning and demanded money from the two men inside.
A shot fired during the incident by one of the intruders broke a window and pierced the side of a truck parked in the residence’s driveway.
Shortly after the incident, police arrested two of the people they said committed the crime and later that evening a third was taken into custody.
Barnes evaded the police searching for her until last night.
The four suspects will appear in General Sessions Court on Feb. 1.
