Power returning to local electric customers

By Monday afternoon, about 50 local customers of the Elizabethton Electric Department remained without power.

Elizabethton Electric Department General Manager Rob Toney said approximately 2,000 customers were without power early Monday morning following powerful storms that swept through the area. Crews were out in full force throughout the day working to restore power.
