Quilt show opens at Sycamore Shoals today

It’s that time of year again: The air turns crisp and cold, and those old family quilts are brought out from storage to provide extra warmth.

But you won’t get to snuggle up in any of the quilts on display at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park this weekend as a part of the annual Sycamore Stitchers Quilt Show.

Visitors to the show vote for their favorites in nine categories covering a range of styles.

Show co-chair Jeanie Johnson said the quilt show faced some challenges this year, which resulted in fewer participants.
