Rangers erase 14-point halftime deficit to best North Greene

By

A blazing fire needs only a spark to get it started, and on Friday night at Snavely Gym sophomore guard Joe Searfoss provided Unaka with that spark.

The Rangers trailed by 14 at the half but a 3-ball in the third period by Searfoss jump-started the Rangers, who went on to jolt North Greene 62-47 on senior night in Watauga Valley Conference action.

“We challenged them at halftime,” said Rangers head coach Aaron Dugger. “‘Are you going to lay down or are you going to get stops and defend?’ They did just that. We locked them down when it meant something. This team is talented and when they bring that kind of effort and turned the defense up, we started making shots at the other end.
