It’s been a horrifying few weeks for Unaka’s football team, getting blasted by a combined score of 91-0 in a pair of losses.
But the Rangers (1-6) have a chance to redeem themselves on Friday night when they take on Tri-Cities Christian (4-3) in Kingsport.
“From what I see on film, they’ve got several athletes at different positions,” Unaka coach Steve McKinney said before Wednesday’s practice. “They’ve got some stuff that gives us problems, and that’s a little bit of speed. They are very disciplined.”
The game takes place at Lynn View Community Center, the field of the old Lynn View High School off Lynn Garden Dr.
Tri-Cities is a private, Christian institution on the rise. In its sixth year, the program is shooting to join the TSSAA in the near future.
