Rangers take issue with late call in loss to Rebels

GREENEVILLE — Unaka did everything in its power to take South Greene into overtime. One official took that opportunity away.

In what is often a no-call situation, a foul was called on a driving South Greene bucket that went awry with 1.2 seconds remaining — and one free throw saved the Rebels with a 59-58 decision on their home floor Monday night.

“You question it a lot,” said Unaka coach Aaron Dugger of the late foul.
The visiting Rangers, which trailed by double digits by much of the second quarter, battled to a second half lead and fought tooth and nail with South Greene in the final quarter.
