Redrawn districts bringing changes

The redistricting of Tennessee House and Senate districts could prove benefical to Carter County, which after the November election will have twice the representation in both legislative chambers than it had before.

Redistricing divided the county into two districts in both chambers. In the State House, voters in the Roan Mountain Mountain, Tiger Valley, Elk Mills, Hampton and most of the Valley Forge and Gap Creek precincts were moved from the 4th House District to the 3rd District.
