Retired newsman Bob Lewis dies
JOHNSON CITY — Bob Lewis, retired WJHL-TV news anchor, died early Monday after a long health battle with heart disease and cancer.
Lewis was an employee for more than four decades at the Johnson City TV station. He was hired in 1967 as a part-time camera man, but through the years did a number of jobs, including announcer, morning show anchor, noon anchor and news director.
He retired in 2007. Lewis also had his own band, the Bob Lewis Band.
He is survived by his wife, Madaline, five children and seven grandchildren.
