Reward offered for information on stolen logging truck

By

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a logging truck that was stolen from a Mountain City business on New Year’s Day.

On Wednesday, a white 1977 Ford logging truck was reported stolen from the parking lot of Neva General Store & Deli at 4862 Roan Creek Road – while it was fully loaded.

Sheriff Mike Reece said the truck was also stolen with a knuckleboom crane, which is used to load the lumber, attached to it.

Reece said the vehicle’s owner is offering a $500 reward for any information leading to its recovery and the arrest of any suspects.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department at (423)727-7761. Callers can remain anonymous if they choose.
