It’s been billed as the “Border Bowl” in years past, but Friday’s game at Unicoi County has become a must-win for Happy Valley. The Warriors need a victory to stay in the playoff hunt and the Blue Devils would love nothing more than to spoil the party for their neighboring rival.
Unicoi County kicked off the season with a 42-41 win over Hampton but have fallen on hard times since then. Their other win, over Sullivan East, has been sandwiched in between five losses.
Warriors head coach Larry Shively knows his team will encounter a fired up team of Blue Devils inside of Gentry Stadium. The tribe will be looking to avenge last year’s 14-7 loss on Warrior Hill.
