Scalf- Kiser

Chelsea Lynn Scalf and James Edward Kiser Jr. were united in marriage on Saturday, August 20, in a traditional double-ring ceremony at Prayer Tabernacle Church in Elizabethton.

Pastor Kenneth Davis officiated the ceremony. Music was provided by pianist Seth Montgomery, a friend of the bride. In addition, the groom sang “You Had Me From Hello” to his bride.

The bride is the daughter of Allen Scalf, Elizabethton, and Mike and Lynn Kilby, Boomer, N.C.

The bride’s grandparents are Marie Hensley, Hampton, Lois Scalf, Elizabethton, James Scalf, Hampton, and the late Ralph Hensley.

The groom is the son of Jim and Teresa Kiser, Elizabethton.

The groom’s grandparents are Lois Donnelly, Elizabethton, the late Ed Kiser, and the late Don and Rosa Roberts.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

The bride wore a traditional A-line grown of bridal satin with a sweetheart neckline and chapel train with a pink sash around the waist. The sash was a special gift from friends of the bride and groom. She wore a fingertip veil embellished with pearls. She also wore pearls belonging to her grandmother.

The bridal bouquet consisted of pink and orange roses accented with pink lilies and hand-tied with pearls.

Maid of honor was April Simerly, a friend of the bride. She wore a pink knee-length satin dress with accented ribbon at the waist.

Bridesmaid was Sarah Lane, sister of the groom, who was attired identically to the maid of honor.

Flower girls were Cheyenne Scalf, niece of the bride, and Natalie Nickles, cousin of the bride.

Ring bearer was Chase Scalf, cousin of the bride.

Jim Kiser Sr. served his son as best man.

Groomsman was Tim Baumgardner, friend of the groom, and ushers were Josh Scalf, brother of the bride, and Jason Lane, brother-in-law of the groom.

The reception was held at the Elizabethton Senior Citizens Center. Music for the reception was provided by Dayton Case, a friend of the bride and groom. A wedding cake was made special for the couple by the mother of the bride. A groom’s cake was made special by the aunt of the groom.

After a honeymoon to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing at 2161 Siam Road, Elizabethton.
