School board candidates answer questions on service, issues

Six candidates are competing for three seats on the Elizabethton Board of Education. Candidates include incumbent Rita Booher and newcomer candidates Jamey Campbell, Phil Isaacs, Chuck Madgett, Grover May and Sharon Lynch Skeans. Candidates were given the chance to respond to questions concerning school board service and issues facing the school system.

Voters can take to the polls for early voting starting Wednesday, Oct. 17, until Nov. 1. Early voting will be held at the election office in the Carter County Courthouse from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturdays, Oct. 20, and 27, between 9 a.m. and noon. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6, and polls will be open between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
