School board OKs T.A. Dugger work

A different kind of “block grant” turned into a home run with the Elizabethton Board of Education recently.TAD-Field-A-4x5C

Assistant Superintendent Richard VanHuss told school board members that General Shale had donated enough block to build dugouts, a score tower and concession stands at the new baseball and softball fields at T.A. Dugger Junior High School, along with a brick architectural feature.

In order to cut costs, those items had not been included in the original plans, and were scheduled to be added at a later date.

The board approved a change order last Thursday for $11,200 for the T.A. Dugger work.
