With a young team you often measure success in terms of improvement in the little things, and very often not by its wins and losses. The Milligan Lady Buffaloes scoring woes continued on Wednesday night, falling to Mars Hill University by a 2-0 tally at Anglin Field.
The Lady Buffs (4-5 Appalachian Athletic Conference, 5-9-1 overall) were blanked for the fourth time in six October contests but head coach Lisa Buckley sees the glass as half full in spite of the light offensive output.
“I felt like we had some chances and I think we fixed the things we wanted to work on after the Reinhardt game,” Buckley said. “Reinhardt was a really tough loss for us, but today what was important was not our result but that we are getting better.
“It’s really hard to convince teams of that, especially when your not having the greatest season ever, but this is a special group of girls. They show resilience and they don’t let poor results affect them.”
