Search continuing at Butler Bridge for missing woman

A search is expected to restart Wednesday morning at the Butler Bridge for a Johnson City woman reported missing over the weekend.

Vonda Donaldson’s family reported her missing on Sunday. She had last been seen on Saturday.

Johnson City Police Department officials say they received information on Monday that Donaldson may be the victim of a homicide and her body may have been taken to the Butler Bridge. The Carter County Sheriff’s Department and Carter County Rescue Squad began searching the area of the bridge before noon Tuesday.

Recovery crews stopped Tuesday night but planned to return Wednesday morning.
