“Advent means coming,” said Kristal Dove, Milligan director of campus activities. “Advent is the season when we anticipate Christ’s arrival and celebrate Jesus’ birth.”

With three weeks until Christmas, Dove said the event held in the Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts lobby provided the community with a way to prepare for Christmas gift-giving.

“We are celebrating the gifts that God has given us,” she said.

Dove said the success of the first event, held last year, prompted the decision to make it an annual tradition.

Zoey Brennan, the market’s student coordinator this year, said she was excited to get involved in organizing the event.

“It is bringing the community together and that’s a big part of what Milligan stands for,” she said.
Dove said the event, and subsequently the shoppers, support many kinds of initiatives.
