Mr. and Mrs. John Evans Seward Jr. of Elizabethton announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Julia Katherine Seward, to Gideon Patrick O’Daniel, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Patrick O’Daniel of Raleigh, N.C.
The bride-elect is a 2009 summa cum laude graduate of Grove City College with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She will receive a Master of Arts in Teaching from Bob Jones University in May. She is currently a teacher for Sylvan Learning Center. She ranked No. 38 in the NCAA Division III cross country.
Julia is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl Farris of Greenville, S.C., and Mrs. Matilda Seward of Johnson City and the late John Seward.
Her fiancé is a 2011 graduate of West Coast Baptist College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. He received his Master of Arts in Teaching from Bob Jones University and is currently a sixth-grade teacher at Wilmington Christian Academy, Wilmington, N.C. He taught three years in Guam.
Gideon is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Halleck of California and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Patrick O’Daniel.
The couple will be married on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Grace Bible Church in Moore, S.C.
