Shelter bids opened, low bid at $499,245

Bids were opened Thursday afternoon for the new Elizabethton Carter County Animal Shelter with the low bidder, Landmark Construction of Johnson City, coming in with a price of $499,245 for the new shelter building.

Joey White from architect firm Reedy and Sykes opened the bids for the shelter. There were five bidders and all five bids were considered eligible.

Landmark Construction not only had the lowest bid of $499,245 but also offered the shortest completion time of 120 days. The subcontractors listed in Landmark’s bid were Murray Mechanical for plumbing and HVAC, CR Electrical for electrical work and masonry was listed as costing less than $100,000.
