Elizabethton Carter County Animal Shelter April Jones updates one of the animal identification cards that are now in place on the kennels at the animal shelter.
When April Jones was selected as director of the Elizabethton Carter County Animal Shelter four months ago, she faced the task of bringing order and accountability to the facility.
Jones, the first on-site director for the ECCAS, has started using new pet tracking software to keep an accurate log of what pets are brought to the shelter and how they come to leave the shelter, whether it is through adoption, rescue or euthanasia. A new name and information card identification system is in place on each kennel. The cards help shelter staff keep account of each animal and also provides visitors with extrainformation, such as the animal’s breed.
