Soccer: Jr. Cyclones upset Science Hill

Perseverance paid off in a big way for T.A. Dugger on Wednesday evening at Brown-Childress Stadium as the Junior Cyclones upset Science Hill Middle School 1-0 on a last-minute goal by Hunter Vines.
“I thought we did well,” said Jr.Hilltoppers head coach David Strickland. “They got a good break at the end. That was a very good finish by the kid who scored for T.A. Dugger. This is a tough surface to play on and I thought we handled it well. I am not disappointed with the effort.”
Science Hill (0-1) dominated early-on possession and had two shots on goal that were handled well by Cyclones goalkeeper Noah Lovelace. The first came on a pass from midfield to the foot of Rob McDermott, who sent a pass into the box and Sam Massey fired a low shot that Lovelace went to the turf to field.
