Elizabethton Water Department crews repaired a break in the eight-inch water line in the 1800 block of Southside Road on Monday. Thursday’s new break occurred in the 1700 block.

Director of Utilities Johann Coetzee said that because the water line was not properly installed in the first place, more breaks could occur as long as crews are working on the line.

“We don’t know where pressure points on the line are,” Coetzee said. “There is nothing we can do to avoid this.”
