Spivey Mountain Boys at Kiwanis Campfire this evening

By

The Spivey Mountain Boys — the ever-popular bluegrass group — performs at the Kiwanis Campfire Program Friday, July 13, at 8 p.m. at the Rock Creek Recreation Area.

A long-time favorite at Tennessee festivals, The Spivey Mountain Boys have performed with Ralph Stanley, the Osborne Brothers and other bluegrass notables for 15 years. If you’ve seen them before, you’ll want to see and hear them again. If you’ve never seen this group perform, don’t miss this chance.

The Spivey Mountain Boys consist of Mike Hensley on banjo, Jamie Hensley on guitar, Marlin Hensley on bass and Bobby Ramsey on mandolin. This is a top group. Remember, the Kiwanis Campfire Programs are free for all ages, including a marshmallow roast after the program. Bring family and friends.

To find the Rock Creek Recreational Area, exit Interstate 26 at from Exit 36. Cross back over I-26, proceed eastward to the first red light; turn right on N. Main Street. Turn east (left) on Route 395 (Rock Creek Road) and after a mile or two you will see a sign marking the entrance of Rock Creek Recreation Area. Turn left into the area and follow the campfire signs to the amphitheater. In the event of rain the program will be moved to the Rock Creek Presbyterian Church which you will pass on Route 395 on your way to Rock Creek Recreation Area.
