Elizabethton Mayor Curt Alexander gave his annual “State of the City” address to the Elizabethton Kiwanis Club during its meeting this week. Alexander said the city has had an “exciting” year and there was exciting news to report, including infrastructure upgrades, new employees and money-saving changes.
One of the highlights for the city in the past fiscal year has been the improvements to city’s electric, water and sewer infrastructure. The city is in the midst of rebuilding the nine substations in the Elizabethton Electric Department system, replacing and repairing aging water lines and sewer treatment systems.
