‘Super lab’ state case on hold

By

In light of the potential for federal drug charges, an attorney for the man accused of creating a methamphetamine “super lab” has asked that the state’s case against his client be postponed.

On Tuesday, Carter County General Sessions Court Judge John W. Walton delayed the trial of Timothy Lee Blackwell, 41, until it is known whether Blackwell will face federal charges.

Blackwell was arrested on Nov. 26 after officers with the Carter County Sheriff’s Department said they found him inside the house at 8377 U.S. Highway 19E in Roan Mountain, surrounded by what they later said was determined to be 201 devices used to manufacture methamphetamine.
