A last-second shot didn’t fall for the T.A. Dugger Lady Jr. Cyclones, which resulted in a loss to Unicoi County 38-35 in Saturday’s Middle Eight Conference tournament quarterfinals at Large Gym.
Bayley McGee missed a three-pointer as time expired. The miss capped off an impressive quarter for the fiery point guard, who scored 12 of her team’s 14 points in the period and finished with 20 for the game.
“She is such a clutch performer,” T.A Dugger head coach Barry Johnson said of his point guard. “She tried really hard to help put us over the top in the earlier quarters, but it wasn’t working. Then she stayed with it. That’s a real tribute to her and her ability and her confidence.”
