TAD boys rally past Blue Devils
The T.A. Dugger student body got much more than a ho-hum affair Monday afternoon at John Large Gym.
Hosting Unicoi County for an in-school affair, the Jr. Cyclones pulled out a 43-41 victory to close the regular season.
According to TAD coach Marshall Hardy, the game was played in an exciting environment with very good crowd participation. The students did a “blackout” – wearing black clothing – while the players donned black uniforms.
Hayden Townsend was high scorer for the Cyclones, collecting 11 points. Playing a strong all-around game, Townsend was excellent as usual on the defensive end – and hit big fourth-quarter shots to ensure the win.
