PARIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Naturalist Program is accepting applications for its spring adult education workshop to be held at Paris Landing State Park.
The program is designed to teach Tennesseans about the natural world, inspire the desire to learn more about Tennessee’s natural resources and instill a sense of environmental stewardship.
Topics covered in the accelerated 40 hours of coursework include ecology, geology, plants, fungi, invertebrates, mammals, amphibians and reptiles. At least half of the instructional training will be outdoors.
Participants will complete their certifications by volunteering 40 hours of community service to nature-oriented projects.
The spring session will be held March 17-19 and 24-26. The registration deadline is March 3.
