Tennessee High presents challenge for ‘Horns

Tennessee High won’t have to watch a Wendy’s commercial to know “where the beef” is on Thursday. Johnson County is hoping its “Hefty Horns” can dominate the line of scrimmage inside the Stone Castle in their season opener.

The prime cut crew “steaks” out at 268 pounds up front. And you won’t find any fat on the bone either.

Several media members and coaches are picking the Vikings to win the Big Seven. Johnson County head coach Mike Atwood knows the task at hand.

“We’ve played them eight times when we were in their league and this is the third time we’ve played them out of the league,” said Atwood. “It’s also the third time that some of our kids have started against them. We know its a challenge and our kids understand that but we have a lot of experience on our side and I think that will help.”
