The Tennessee Highway Patrol today named the man killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the Hunter community.
According to information released by the THP, 39-year-old Christopher A. Terrill was killed when his motorcycle drove off the side of the roadway and struck a street sign and a row of mail boxes.
Terrill, a Mountain City resident, was travelling north on State Highway 91 near the intersection of Blue Springs Road Friday morning when the crash occurred.
The rider, who was wearing a helmet, was airlifted from the scene to a local hospital by Wings Air Rescue, but died from his injuries.
Trooper Sollie Rabun said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash, but Terrill’s blood will be tested, as protocol dictates in all fatal accidents.
