ERWIN—A no-hitter from Unicoi County pitcher William McInturff put the brakes on a potential non-conference upset throughout Wednesday’s baseball diamond festivites.
The Blue Devils used a six-run first inning to lay the foundation for a 12-0 win over Unaka in five innings during a battle of Carter and Unicoi counties at Baxter Field in Erwin.

After retiring the side in the top of the first, Unicoi County (4-0) got RBI hits from Austin Green, Taylor Lafever and Hunter Burnett to go ahead 6-0 early.
