Traffic stop leads to two arrests
Officers with the Elizabethton Police Department said they arrested two men Wednesday evening during a traffic stop because both occupants were allegedly intoxicated and the passenger was in possession of narcotics.
Patrolman John Bulla said he stopped a BMW which was speeding on Bluefield Avenue. Bulla said the driver, identified as James Smith, 33, of 2006 Ridgefield Road, Johnson City, was intoxicated and subsequently arrested on a second offense DUI. In accordance to Tennessee law, Bulla seized the vehicle.
