UH eliminated when rally falls short

By

MURFREESBORO — University High was within an eyelash of wiping out a six-run deficit in the Class A softball tournament held at Starplex Park on Thursday.
The Lady Jr. Bucs had scored five times in the final two frames and had the tying run on third in the seventh inning with nobody out. Two batters later, they got wiped from the tournament.
A laser line drive off the bat of Ari Ramsaran was snared by first baseman Megan Fuller, who then threw to third to double off Taylor Treadway. The ball was within inches of likely being a double that would have tied the game.
The loss eliminates the Junior Bucs, who ended their season at 28-15. Whitwell now faces Oliver Springs.
