Unaka Elementary hosts Grandparents Day

It was a back-to-school day for grandparents in the Unaka community of Carter County Thursday. They weren’t heading back to class but to a special lunch with their grandchildren as Unaka Elementary hosted Grandparents Day this week.

Grandparents Day has become an annual event for Unaka Elementary and for many other schools in Carter County. The special day gives grandparents a chance to visit their grandchildren in school and to have lunch with them.
