ERWIN—It was a night of celebration in Erwin.
Unicoi County capped off a defensive second half with a 27-9 run in the fourth quarter to pick up a 68-43 win over Elizabethton Monday night during senior night for eight players on the squad.
The celebrations kept coming for Unicoi County (21-5, 9-2). While senior guard Austin Green celebrated his 18th birthday, the squad kept their hopes alive for a potential Three Rivers Conference title.
“There was a lot of standing around tonight on defense,” EHS head coach Lucas Honeycutt said. “We had trouble hitting shots from the outside and down in the paint. We could of done a better job of that and had better ball movement the entire game. They did a good job of getting it down low.”
