A Unicoi man accused of robbing a west Carter County convenience store might be experiencing a little deja vu after the Elizabethton Police Department leveled a new charge against him.

On Thursday, EPD Capt. Joy Markland said Aaron Earl Wallace, 30, 1080 Virginia Ave., has been charged with aggravated robbery in connection with a robbery that took place on Jan. 10 at the Roadrunner Market at 1258 Milligan Highway.

The charges came a day after Wallace was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery in reference to another robbery of the same store, which took place on Jan. 14.

In both robberies, a man whose face was covered entered the store, told cashiers he was armed, and demanded money from the register. In each case, the man was given the money and then fled the store.

After the Jan. 14 robbery, a witness told EPD officers that he or she saw the robbery suspect enter a silver Saturn Vue and drive to the area near Swadley Road. Officers with the Johnson City Police Department located a vehicle matching the description, and an EPD K9 unit led officers to a nearby apartment.
