BRISTOL — Tennessee was hoping to knock off Virginia in Friday’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes 17-and-under All-Star baseball game — but instead got the hammer dropped on it. The boys from the Commonwealth State scored four times in the third inning without the help of a base hit in their 7-1 victory at King College.
Five walks, a hit batter and a wild pitch that allowed a runner to reach first base after a strikeout were just one of many downfalls for the Tennessee Stars on the day. They dropped a routine fly ball with two outs in the fifth inning, allowing two more unearned runs to score.
