The Carter County School Board approved the terms and conditions for the Range Elementary School contract Thursday at its monthly meeting, held at Central Elementary School.
“It is now in the hands of our finance director,” said Director of Schools Kevin Ward.
Advertising will last for two weeks, then an online auction will be conducted, which Ward expects to also last about two weeks.
The board also passed a resolution to embrace Common Core standards.
“This basically says that the board agrees that we teach toward Common Core standards,” Ward said. “We are making that culture change this year. We are moving toward full implementation.”
Students are to be tested based on Common Core standards next year, Ward said.
