Happy Valley head coach Larry Shively and his staff were looking for a good spring practice after coming off a 3-7 mark in 2012. And they did so by getting in nine quality days before two severe thunderstorms ended things a bit early.
Still, Shively considered what time they had outside a success and looks forward to the upcoming season.
“We’re excited about this year’s squad and the work ethic that they have shown,” said Shively. “They were very focused on what we were doing in spring practice. We installed our offense in baby steps, but we didn’t get it all done. We tried experimenting with some new things and refined some old ones. Everyone was anxious to get back out on the field and start doing drills. We all had a good time.”
