Martina Aloyse Bush and Timothy William Vanthournout were united in marriage during a double-ring ceremony at First United Methodist Church in Johnson City on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 5 p.m. Father Dennis Kress officiated the exchange of vows.
The bride is the daughter of David and Mary Bush, Elizabethton. She is the granddaughter of the late Ralph and Martina Bush and the late Joe and Mary Margaret Neuhoff.
The groom is the son of Tom and Cindy Vanthournout, Johnson City, and the late Judy Vanthournout. He is the grandson of JoAnn Vanthournout, Elburn, Ill., and the late Henry Vanthournout, and the late William and Geneva Wyatt.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Hope Diaz, vocalist, and David Arney, pianist.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless A-line gown of ivory chiffon featuring a sweetheart styled neckline framed with a band of beaded crystals and pearls. The gown boasted a full chapel-length train.
She carried a bouquet of orange roses and orange gerber daisies.
Brittany Smith attended the bride as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Meghan Rechel, Kendra Perkins, Elizabeth Vanthournout, Hannah Hudson and Abigail Hudson.
Guest book attendants were Katie West and Megan Neuhoff.
Tom Vanthournout II served the groom as best man.
Groomsmen were Nathan Fritz, Brandon Murphy, William Bush, Kyle Jacobson and Chris Smith.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at Venue at the King Centre.
After a honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple are residing in Elizabethton.
